Northern badlands

A rough place for travelling by cart.

The grasses of the fields shorten and thin as you head north, revealing exposed rock. There is little cover across the mostly flat terrain, exposing both you and the gnoll bands that patrol the area.

The Northern Badlands are characterized by open stretches of bedrock giving way to rough gravelly soil and thin grasses. There is little to offer shade or protection from the elements, but the air is cool and travel is mostly pleasant.

Gnolls were once the predominant inhabitants of the badlands, as were the hyenas they kept as guard pets. Their numbers have been dramatically reduced since the pack living in the Towers of Silence was decimated by the Pathfinders.
